The story
This saree weighs 1.2 kilograms. The zari alone is 786 grams. We sourced the silk from the Murugan family in Kanchipuram, who have woven for us since 1965. The pallu took eleven days on a single loom. It is the kind of saree a bride wears once, folds into silk cloth, and hands to her daughter at her wedding.
