The story
Muga silk is produced only in Assam, from the muga silkworm fed on soalu and som trees. It has a natural gold colour that deepens over time with wear and wash. We source our muga through the Sualkuchi Weavers Society. Muga silk is one of the few natural fibres in the world that improves with age.
How we source
Woven at the loom, carried to Kalbadevi, sold to one family.
Every piece we stock is bought directly from the master weaver. No middlemen. No mill production. Ramubhai will tell you the thread count, the loom number, and the weaver's name.
